On April 20, it was announced that World of Worldcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will be returning as part of Blizzard‘s WoW Classic series. Operating alongside the main version of the game, WoW Classic previously saw the relaunch of The Burning Crusade expansion in 2019, allowing players to relive gameplay experiences from the past.

For a brief moment, the official World of Warcraft website displayed a release date of September 26 for World of Worldcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic before it was quickly taken down. While Blizzard has yet to confirm or deny the date, oftentimes when this has happened the leaked release date has proven to be accurate. Either way, the new WoW Classic is set to return by the end of the year.
