Levi's Taps Naomi Osaka for Lively SS22 Capsule
Created based on original sketches by the tennis champion.
After partnering with LeBron James and Maverick Carter‘s The SpringHill Company to launch an entertainment production company last month, tennis superstar Naomi Osaka has teamed up with Levi’s to craft a playful denim collection for Spring/Summer 2022.
The collection, which draws inspiration from original sketches by the four-time Grand Slam champion, pays homage to both Osaka’s on-the-court and off-the-court mentalities with signature iconography and expressive cuts. Among the range, there’s a flower-bear laser-printed ‘93 Noami Jean, which recalls design elements from the brand’s standard men’s 501 silhouette, next to a puffed-up Zip Bomber Jacket, which features contrasting denim pieces. Elsewhere, the lineup includes a youthful Mermaid Skirt with a high-low hemline, a streamlined Denim Halter Top and the oversized Artist Coat boasting wide sleeves and large patch pockets.
“I wanted to keep this collection fun and playful, and also include some pieces for everyone,” Osaka said in a statement. “I was trying to bring some light-heartedness with this collection as a reminder for us all to enjoy the life we’re living and not take things too seriously. Best of all, these pieces all make me feel super confident and comfortable because they’re all so flattering and fun to wear.”
Notably, the entire Levi’s x Naomi Osaka collab is crafted using 100% organically grown cotton. The collection is now available to shop on Levi’s website. Prices range from $180 to $350 USD.
