180 Studios and Fact Magazine have assembled a roster of pioneering artists to create a series of immersive installations that blur the line between physical and virtual. Combining the newest digital technology, interactive algorithms, AI and 3D digital mapping, laser work, holographic projections, and electronic music, the cavernous spaces are transformed into otherworldly environments as visitors disconnect from the regular world and travel through the dizzying visions of the different artists.

Specific installations include Vortex, an interactive light, smoke, and sound show from Hamill Industries with an original score from Floating Points, an interactive installation by L.A.-based studio Actual Objects which crafts an alternative metaverse populated by digital humans, and a meditative experience titled Daydream V.6 from Nonotak Studio consisting of dynamic light synchronizations of geometric shapes. The full list of participating artists include Ryoichi Kurokawa, UVA, Caterina Barbieri and Ruben Spini, Lawrence Lek, Actual Objects, Gener8ion, Weirdcore, Gaika, Nonotak, Ben Kelly, Hamill Industries, Ib Kamara, Ibby Njoya, Object Blue and Natalia Podgorska.

“Future Shock” at 180 The Strand is now open and will run until August 28. Tickets can be found here and a preview of the installations can be found below.
