Todd Snyder x Timex Utility Ranger Creates Field Watch Out Of a Diver

The designer set out to create a watch as suited to the woods as much as the coast.

Todd Snyder’s latest Timex collaboration turns a back catalogue dive watch into a practical, military-inspired field watch.

His new Utility Ranger is based on the Timex Navi, a homage to the brand’s original diver watches.

The olive dial, ballistic fabric strap and gunmetal finish 41mm case convey a military aesthetic while the bezel and second had carry Timex’s signature blaze orange.

Powered by a 21-jewel automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve, visible through an exhibition caseback, the Utility Ranger can also be manually wound.

“I wanted to create a watch that was reminiscent of vintage field and diving watches,” says the designer. “A watch that looked like it had been on its share of expeditions in the woods and along the coast.”

The Timex x Todd Snyder Utility Ranger is available now via Timex and Todd Snyder, priced $259 USD.

Elsewhere in watches, Phillips New York watch auction sees five watches sell for more than $1M USD.
