IKEA Launches AI-Powered "Kreativ" Mixed Reality App
Introducing 50 new AR showrooms and accurate LiDar mapping.
Shortly after introducing its collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, IKEA offers an exciting new update to its AR-technology capabilities, allowing customers to better visualize how their offerings can mix and match in a variety of different living spaces. The AI-driven digital design experience is dubbed IKEA Kreativ, which “combines decades of IKEA life at home expertise with the latest developments in spatial computing, machine learning, and 3D mixed reality technologies.”
Accessed via phones, tablets, and computers, IKEA Kreativ invites customers to explore products in 50 inspirational 3D showrooms where they can quickly swap, rotate, stack, and hang different objects. Through its LiDAR-enabled IKEA Kreative Scene Scanner, customers can also create lifelike virtual replicas of their spaces in accurate dimensions and perspectives. After designing their ideal space, customers can seamlessly add products directly to their cart and share designs with friends and family.

IKEA Kreativ will roll out first in the U.S. for iOS and laptop users and will be made available for Android users and international customers in FY23. The app can be found on the IKEA website and Apple App Store.
