As always, Jordan Brand looks to keep its classic silhouettes fresh with new colorways. One such silhouette that is often visited is the Tinker Hatfield designed Air Jordan 3. Following up on the Air Jordan 3 “Muslin” and “Cardinal Red,” a “Desert Elephant” is on its way to the iconic model. After surfacing earlier this year, Nike has now provided a closer look at the colorway.

This upcoming take on the Air Jordan 3 presents a familiar color blocking formula. Opting for a modest black leather upper, the emphasis of this pair is with the supporting details such as the light tan suede tongue. This soft shade of brown is matched at the outsole and complemented by the off-white colored midsole. However, the key details that give it the true “Desert Elephant” flair rest at the overlays and insole. First off, the overlays revamp the Air Jordan 3’s signature elephant print with a textured brown. Then, at the insole, Jordan Brand has included a formula tag, giving a nod to elephants.

Kicking off the summer, the Air Jordan 3 “Desert Elephant” will be available July 1 at $200 USD via Nike and select retailers.

Elsewhere in the world of sneakers, Zion Williamson outfits his Jordan Zion 2 in a “Voodoo” colorway.
