Daiki Tsuneta’s Tokyo-based music collective Millennium Parade has shared the opening sequence to the second season of the anime series Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. Based on the 1980s manga Ghost in the Shell by Masamune Shirow, the show takes place in the year 2045 following a worldwide economic crisis that led to the dissolution of all forms of currency. Its first season premiered globally on Netflix in April 2020.

For the theme song, entitled “Secret Ceremony,” Millennium Parade crafted a track that plays on the anticipation of the action-packed season two. An accompanying music video brings viewers through different shots of the anime’s futuristic landscape.

The music collective is also behind Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 season two’s closing sequence, “No Time to Cast Anchor.”

The second season of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 just premiered on Monday with 12 episodes.

In other music news, Doja Cat revealed that her next album will be “predominantly rap.”
