One-of-a-Kind Lang & Heyne Friedrich II Remontoir “Prototype 00” Is Heading to Phillips

LANG & HEYNE has just announced an astounding watch with long-time partners The Lavish Attic set for Phillips‘ The Hong Kong Watch Auction: XIV on May 27 – 28. As an independent watchmaker that makes 100 – 150 pieces a year, LANG & HEYNE redefines the idea of “in-house” as even the screws themselves in each watch are “born” in Saxony.
The watch in question that is set to hit the auction block is the FRIEDRICH II Remontoir “Prototype 00.” This unique piece features a two-part black enamel dial setup where a larger block of enamel has been reduced to slices and fixed together with metal supports — giving rise to the lower small seconds. On top of the masterfully crafted dial, the timepieces also sees Superluminova-filled hands, and grade 2 titanium movement construction with ceramic bead-blasted finishing. Blue annealed screws are replaced with purple ones to match the warm gray of the titanium.
The watch is fitted to a Mailanaise warp knitted fabric which is manufactured in solid stainless steel with a butterfly clasp.
