Jaeger-LeCoultre has added a deep green double-gradient dial to its Polaris Date.

With its high gloss lacquered finish the dial exhibits a spectrum of colors from olive greens all the way through to inky blacks depending on the light, while offering a high contrast background to its appliqué hour markers filled with a vanilla shade of Super-LumiNova.

Underneath the green lacquer the dial is divided into sections defined by different finishes, from sunray brushing at the centre and grained at the edge to opaline on its inner rotating bezel, which is adjusted using the second crown at the two o’clock.

The optical effect of the dial’s complex mix of finishes is amplified by the amount of light allowed in through its glassbox sapphire crystal.

Inside the Polaris Date’s 42mm stainless steel case is a Calibre 899 automatic movement with 70-hour power reserve, which can be seen through its exhibition caseback. The watch is water resistant to 200m and is supplied on a quick-change green rubber strap.

The Polaris Date is available for a month as an online exclusive via Jaeger-LeCoultre, priced $9,200 USD after which it becomes a boutique exclusive.
