Despite the Los Angeles Lakers being eliminated from the 2021-22 NBA playoffs, LeBron James is still making headlines with many wondering if he will stay or leave the team.

The defeat was brought on by a Phoenix Suns win, marking the second season since James joined the Lakers that his team has missed the playoffs. Currently, King James is eligible to sign a two-year $97 million USD contract that would ensure his stay with the Lakers until 2025. When the Lakers won the 2020 NBA Championships, James signed a two-year extension worth $85 million USD, taking him to the 2023 season.

Recently, James has been especially vocal about wanting to play with his son Bronny. Earlier this year, James made it very clear that he intends to play his final NBA season with Bronny. While he has aspirations for his son to make it to the NBA, he has never specified a preference for a team. Bronny is currently 17-years-old and will not be eligible for the NBA Draft until 2024. It remains to be seen if this will affect James decision to sign the two-year extension or not.

In case you missed it, LeBron James revealed that he wants to play alongside Steph Curry.
