Beta Version of Coinbase’s NFT Marketplace Hits $100K USD in Daily Sales
With fewer than 700 users on the closed platform.

Coinbase’s long-awaited NFT marketplace launched on April 20 in beta. With a limited user base, the platform reportedly has had 900 total transactions of 104.5 Ethereum (equating to $300,000 USD) in volume traded since its debut last week, according to Decrypt.
A third of that amount, meaning $100,000 USD in volume, was recorded on Thursday alone.
As of right now, Coinbase NFT has 282 unique sellers and 464 unique buyers, adding up to 681 total users on the platform. The site is reportedly adding 100 new unique users each day.
While these numbers may seem small, the marketplace is in closed beta, meaning users can’t sign up on their own. Those with accounts had to join via an invite code. There are about 4 million people on the waitlist for the platform, according to Decrypt.
For context, NFT marketplace OpenSea has more than 1.6 million users and saw nearly $94.8 million volume traded on Thursday, per Decrypt.
Given its popularity leading up to the main launch, Coinbase NFT may dominate the industry as collectors’ go-to marketplace sometime in the future.
