Stein Experiments With Layering Proportions For FW22
Drawing from the theme “Contrastive Perspective.”
Under the cold cement backdrop of an empty industrial warehouse, Kiichiro Asakawa’s young Japanese label, Stein, debuted its Fall/Winter 2022 collection for Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo. Based on the theme “Contrastive Perspective,” the collection balances the brand’s attributes of tranquility and power throughout sharp and minimalist pieces.
As with Stein’s past seasons, its FW22 collection is devoid of graphics, focusing instead on the fine details found across unique proportions. Highlighted are a range of easy-to-wear layering pieces dressed in shades of dark blue, grey, and black with occasional splashes of color, patterns, and gradients across the mohair cardigans and scarves.
Highlights include a series of double-breasted trenchcoats that come fitted with throat latches, asymmetric button details, a variety of belt options, and a side slit design that allows the arms to slip out of the sleeves. Oversized puffer jackets, reversible fleece-lined leather jackets, sartorial vests, one-piece nylon tracksuits, and a selection of casual monochrome suits round out the extensive assortment.
