South Park and adidas Announce New Character-Inspired Footwear Collection
The comical series puts its spin on the Stan Smith, NMD_R1 V2, Superstar, NMD_R1 and Forum Low.
Although adidas typically garners most of its attention nowadays for everything that it has going on with its YEEZY lineup with Kanye West, the “Brand With Three Stripes” has been generating a sizable amount of noise for its other collaborative dealings. One partnership that has certainly captured the hearts of the sneaker community has been its initiatives with South Park, and tbe duo has just officially presented its newest collection.
For this new project, the Comedy Central series whipped up six new footwear colorways, all of which are inspired by various characters in the show. There’s a duo of Forum Lows involved here, one that copies the exact blue, red and yellow details of Cartman’s main outfit while the other mimics his A.W.E.S.O.M.-O 4000 robot costume from season eight. NMD_R1 and NMD_R1 V2 are highlighted in this collection, the former being styled to translate Kenny’s iconic parka with furry interiors while the latter comes detailed with silver and green tones that speak to Butters’ supervillain alter ego, Professor Chaos. Elsewhere in the assemblage, South Park has crafted a special Superstar that features a palette that matches Kyle Broflovski’s look along with a Stan Smith that draws from Stan Marsh’s blue and red poof-ball hat.
