LeBron James is not giving up on the Los Angeles Lakers and he is hoping fans won’t either. Despite the sixth consecutive loss in seven games, James is adamant that the Lakers will still be able to finish the NBA season on a high note.

Most recently, the Lakers were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks in a close 109-14 loss. While James led the scoring with 26 points, it was not enough to get the Lakers out of their losing streak. In a post-game interview James kept his head up and told reporters,

“We still have games to play. Until you stomp me out, cut my head off, bury me 12 feet under, then I got a chance. So that’s my confidence.

Obviously, at the end of the day, we got to come in here and win ball games and we got to play better but as long as we’ve got more games to play, we should have a chance.”

James admits that he feels like “poop right now.” But assures fans that he is preparing himself and getting into the winning mindset for the Lakers’ upcoming game against the Clippers. Due to injury, James has missed 17 games this season. However, he shot down any speculation that he would be using the rest of the season to rest, “The only way it’ll be back to full strength is with rest. But, I don’t have the luxury of having rest. It can wait until the off-season.”

Head coach Frank Vogel admitted that the team still needs a lot of improvement stating, “Our guys really competed. Our helpers really competed, but he had that stretch in crunch time where he scored a few buckets in a row. It wasn’t good enough. It hurts. All these guys are hurting in there. We’re putting in the work.”

In other sports news, LeBron James is planning to open up his own museum in Akron in 2023.
