Conway The Machine admitted in a recent interview that he did not read his Griselda Records contract, which also supposedly did not turn out in his favor.

Speaking to The Breakfast Club, the Griselda co-founder explained that he has learned his lesson and will make sure his next contract works for him. “When we did that shit in the beginning, I really wasn’t all the way,” Conway shared. “I didn’t even read that contract, bro. I ain’t read that shit. I just signed that shit and moved on. But you know, unfortunately, the contract wasn’t in my favor. So now, going forward, it’s time to redo all that. I gotta make sure if it’s in my favor now.”

He also explained that he did not blindly sign the contract for money, and that what he received for his deals with Griselda, Shady and Interscope Records were “some pocket change.” When asked by host Angela Yee if he still trusts people after his poor deal, Conway revealed that he no longer does, “I don’t trust nobody no more. I trust that it’ll be all business. That’s what I trust. I trust me.” He added, “I tried it the other way and got nothing out of it.”

The Buffalo rapper reaffirmed, however, that he is still proud of the label he-co founded. “Imma wave the Griselda flag regardless because I built, you know what I’m saying, I was hands-on with that. Me and [Westside Gunn], you know, we can figure something out, which I’m sure we will.”
