Vans and Timberland Reveal First-Ever Collaboration
With two DNA-fusing footwear silhouettes.

For the first time in footwear history, Vans and Timberland have joined forces for a collaborative capsule. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the former label’s iconic Half Cab, the duo has come together for an entirely new hybrid silhouette that’s half skate shoe and half hiking boot, dubbed the Vans Skateboarding x Timberland Half Cab Hiker.
The Half Cab Hiker marks a true fusion between the Half Cab and Timberland’s Euro Hiker, a lightweight-yet-sturdy hiking boot that was initially released in 1988 and has since become a mainstay in global subcultures, much like the Half Cab. While the Euro Hiker is most identifiable for its clean, earth-toned silhouette, its firm construction makes it the ideal cold-weather boot for metropolitan terrain trotters.
In the capsule, the Half Cab’s recognizable 5/8-cut upper lands atop the Euro Hiker’s boot tooling, and both are accentuated with metal eyestays and two-tone round boot laces. Composed of canvas and Timberland’s premium leather, each pair boasts ReBOTL™ lining that comprises 50% recycled plastic. Elsewhere, the shoes, which arrive in Wheat and Chocolate/Olive colorways, enlist padded leather collars, rubber lug outsoles and dual iconography.
Alongside the Half Cab Hiker, Vans offers an original reinvention of Timberland’s Premium 6-Inch Waterproof Boots. The silhouette, which first stepped out in 1973, receives streetwear, skate-inspired and all-black updates, under an entirely new moniker: the Vans Skateboarding x Timberland 6-Inch Boot.
The Vans Skateboarding x Timberland collaboration will launch on December 20 via select Vans & Timberland retail stores, Vans’ website and Timberland’s website. The Half Cab Hikers are priced at $160 USD while the 6-Inch Boot retails for $230 USD.
