SANAYI313 Releases Maximalist-Inspired Oblong Collection
An all-wood series of stools, consoles, coffee tables and more.
Istanbul-based design studio SANAYI313 unveiled its Oblong Collection, a series of solid wood furnishings made with “maximalist expressions in minimalist details.”
Constructed primarily in mazel and burled wood, the collection comprises of stools, consoles, low coffee tables, side tables, and a dining table — each of which is defined by massive bulky forms and rounded corners.
Made in Istanbul, where woodworking traditions go back thousands of years, the lookbook was purposefully shot against an industrial background to reference the studio’s location in Atatürk Oto Sanayi Sitesi — an industrial area in the Turkish captial which has seen exorbitant growth over the years which has led to Istanbul being known as “the city of contrasts.”
