Ryvid is looking beyond the obvious mainstream benefits of electric vehicles like cost savings and environmental friendliness. They’ve applied the same planning and design principles that lift aircraft skyward to creating an exciting on-road commuting experience. This aerospace-inspired engineering brings us a refreshing take on what EVs look like, what they can do, and who they’re for.

Based in California, Ryvid designs and manufactures personal EVs with zero, two, three, and four wheels. While most big EV companies focus on creating sustainable electric cars, Ryvid sees personal EVs as a more significant market in the world of sustainable mobility. Ryvid has gained notoriety in the industry for its Anthem product launch, an electric motorcycle with a minimalist, aerospace-inspired frame design and very low watt-per-mile highway capability. Being eco-friendly is the top priority at Ryvid, not only with Anthem and more EVs to come, but with materials and process in crafting each vehicle. Ryvid is set to be at the forefront of vehicle design and manufacturing in California. In November of this year, the state issued a $20 million USD grant to Ryvid through the California Completes Program which will help Ryvid establish its headquarters and manufacturing facility in California. The funding allows the company to have foundational roots in California with the opportunity to create a wide range of jobs in the EV sector.

Ryvid’s launch vehicle, the Anthem, is a lightweight, zero-emission electric motorcycle that can reach top speeds of 75 mph with a max range of 75 miles on one charge. Its ergo-easy adjustable seat makes it a comfortable ride for all shapes and sizes, even when they stop at a long traffic light. Whip away from a standstill and it comes alive, zipping with ease to highway speeds. “The Anthem was designed to be the most efficient, fun and waste free way for a human to travel short to medium distances every day,” said Ryvid CEO Dong Tran, “That is our mission, and we cut out anything that didn’t serve that purpose. We want to appeal to riders and non-riders alike, so getting on an Anthem will not be an intimidating experience but rather a very welcoming, enjoyable one. Intuitive controls, displays, adjustable seat height and ride modes all help you just get comfortably on and start moving.”

Aerospace-inspired engineering is more than just an aesthetic. The bonded and riveted frame looks the part, but it’s clear from the low weight and emphasis on reliability the electric motorcycle was built to fly. Weighing in at 240 lbs. (175 lbs.without battery), the Anthem is stout enough to load up for hauling yet agile enough to crank around tight corners or even store in an apartment. Its removable battery can be wheeled around and charged in your living room. The state-of-the-art frame and balanced weight distribution deliver a nimble, ultra-responsive motorcycle, and the reverse control function helps back out of tight spaces. In other words, it’s not complicated to learn how to ride this motorcycle. It moves the way you need it to, and you have a ton of options for parking and storage. Ryvid’s $7,800 USD price tag is often credited for bringing EVs to the masses, but it’s also a smart purchase for riders who are looking for a practical secondary bike and urbanites who want to rely less on expensive rideshares or public transportation. There’s minimal maintenance required with Ryvid; its removable battery, adjustable seat, and remarkably simple frame mean you’re likely going to spend less time in the shop and more time on the road. Ryvid’s simplistic frame design boasts an opportunity for a wide range of customizable options for the electric motorcycle.

With 1,000 limited-edition motorcycles available, you can preorder an exclusive, signed chassis direct from the RYVID website. With the excitement around the Anthem EV bike shipping in the coming year, Ryvid is lauching a giveaway that will put one lucky winner on the seat of a Launch Edition Ryvid Anthem EV motorcycle. The winner will also receive a number of collaborative products such as a one-year subscription to See See Motor Coffee, a gift card for a free pair of Danner Boots, and a Barrage Cargo Night Backpack from Chrome Industries. The contest is only limited to U.S. residents and will run until December 31, with the winner notified in January 2023.
