Ja Morant Reportedly Receiving Nike Signature Shoe
The NBA star signed with Nike in 2019.
Ja Morant is reportedly the next NBA star to receive a signature shoe from Nike.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Memphis Grizzlies PG and Nike have been “working on this for several months” and will release the signature shoe “in the near future.” Any additional details such as an official release date or mockups of the silhouette have not been revealed as of writing.
Reports of Morant’s signature shoe arrives right after it was announced that Kyrie Irving and Nike have parted ways after 11 years. The footwear giant suspended their partnership in November after the basketball player shared a film that expressed antisemitic views, although their relationship has been rocky the past year; Irving missed a significant amount of games in the 2021-2022 NBA season due to his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccination, as well as called the upcoming Kyrie Infinity — which Nike supposedly planned to release without his consent — “trash.”
