Fetty Wap Drops a "Sweet Yamz" Remix With Wiz Khalifa
The Pittsburgh rapper adds his own flavor by spitting a verse on the second half of the track.
Fetty Wap was feeling festive this season and tapped into the Thanksgiving spirit by dropping his track “Sweet Yamz.” The track has already gone viral for its timing and association with the holiday feast, but it has regained our attention as Wiz Khalifa has been tapped to hop on the tune for a remix.
“Sweet Yamz” is a remake of “Yamz” by Masego and Devin Morrison which was released in 2021. For this latest iteration, Wiz adds his own flavor to the feel-good number by spitting a verse on the latter half of the song. Instead of executing his signature rap sound, the Pittsburgh native cranks up the autotune and sings soulfully. “I hit it once, she let me do it again, I got enough fruit for you and your friends, come to my spot, now you know what it is / And then I brought a pound on the jet, now I’m here, just took his girl and he said it ain’t fair / But I’m a gangster, I really don’t care, know how to share, I’m a player/ And I’ma come runnin’, don’t worry,” he says just before the last hook comes in.
While Fetty Wap is currently incarcerated, the 31-year-old artist funded a Thanksgiving groceries giveaway in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey to align with the original song’s launch.
