In a new creative partnership, The North Face joins forces with visionary artist Alfie Kungu to design a 10-piece capsule collection inspired by the great outdoors. The exclusive offering specifically revamps items from the urban utility NSE line, created by the brand for the adventurers of tomorrow.

Tapping into his rural Yorkshire upbringing to help shape his designs, Kungu reflects, “Nature works on so many different scales. It’s humbling. You realize you’re not at the center of everything; you’re just a small part of a huge environment with lots of things going on in it.”

He channels this imbued captivation for nature and wildlife to experiment with abstract patterns and smudged prints. Balancing the city-focused edge of the NSE line with his trademark style, the artist creates a vibrantly mottled design that references the symbols of the English wintertime.

The original design arrives on technical pieces including garments, bags and footwear. They feature the print cut up in swatches, which the outdoors brand sews together in panels with its iconic black overlay to create a striking contrast. As well as the signature Himalayan Parka and Rusta Puffer outerwear, The North Face drops T-shirts, fleeces and an iteration of the Convin pants.

Alongside staple NSE garments, the range also features a carry-all backpack and home-to-street Nupste mule that come dressed in all-over print.

Take a closer look at the full capsule in the gallery above. The new Alfie Kungu x The North Face collection is available to buy now online, with prices starting at £35 GBP (approx. $28 USD).
