Nanushka Centers on Hungarian Heritage for SS23

Embodying soft luxury.

With each passing season, it’s expected that Nanushka’s offerings will set forth silhouettes that are just as refined as they are timeless. There’s a contemporary regality at play done up with muted natural shades underpinned by subtle pops of vivid color. For the Spring/Summer 2023 season, the Budapest-based brand furthers this aesthetic with designs inspired by Hungarian heritage.

Rooted in the belief that functionality fosters beauty, the new offering embodies soft luxury. Calf-length overcoats appear in vegan leather and cotton fabrics – producing an elevated calmness whether they be paired with sweatsuits and or short dresses. Knitwear, which is a brand staple, shows up in lavender-colored crotchet tank tops, vests, cotton jumpers, long-sleeve polos and ribbed dresses. Enhancing both knitwear and coordinating set pieces is a selection of graphic designs inspired by Turanian ornaments from Transylvania.

“We wanted to revitalize its century-old craft techniques, translating them into our world,” Sándor told Vogue Runway. “It’s like bringing to life a new heritage, approaching it in an innovative way.”

Elsewhere in the collection are oversized jackets, a driftwood-colored satin bomber jacket with matching shorts, fringed skirts and more. An eggshell-colored structured jacket with chest pockets and black leather overalls serve as menswear highlights.
