Moon Boot® and ALANUI’s Capsule Collaboration Celebrates Italian Heritage
Retro-futurism meets nomadic aesthetics.
While watching the 1969 moon landing, Italian entrepreneur, Giancarlo Zanatta found himself mesmerized by the footwear sported by astronaut, Buzz Aldrin. The experience led Zanatta to found Moon Boot® in the early 1970s, a footwear brand that offers retro-futuristic snow boots. This season, the footwear brand joins forces with the dynamic Oddi siblings from the Milan-based knitwear brand, ALANUI for an exclusive capsule collection.
When speaking about the collaboration, Carlota Oddi, Co-founder and Creative Director of ALANUI stated:
The collaboration between ALANUI and Moon Boot was a natural evolution. Moon Boot is the boot that more than any other in the collective imagination belongs to the world of mountain and après-ski excursions, which certainly best describes the inspiration of our collection.
The capsule collections see three of Moon Boot®’s iconic silhouettes – the Icon High, Icon Low, and newly introduced Full Moon models – doused in ALANUI’s signature nomadic aesthetics. Each style comes in three to six different colorways, infused with elements that reference the natural landscapes deeply rooted in both brands’ heritage. Both functional and versatile, the three styles look just as slick when worn in the mountains or an urban city setting.
Items from this capsule collection are priced around $1,065 to $1,665 USD, available at booth Moon Boot®’s official web store, ALANUI’s official website, and select retailers.
