Humidity and Vans Skateboarding’s Skate Half Cab Sentry GTX Can Take Anything You Throw at It

Longstanding New Orleans skate shop Humidity and Vans Skateboarding have come together for a hybrid Half Cab dubbed the Half Cab Sentry GTX. An amalgamation of multiple Vans models that was built to take on New Orleans’ occasionally temperamental weather, the Skate Half Cab Sentry GTX is a go-anywhere, do-anything sneaker that Humidity proudly says is “built for any situation.”
What being “built for any situation” means from a material standpoint is an upper that combines ripstop and suede, fully secured with a waterproof GORE-TEX liner and equipped with rugged boot laces plus custom tongue and heel pull tabs. The upper may be almost entirely coated in a murky black shade but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking for flair thanks to GORE-TEX logo treatments both large and small plus red tongue detailing. Down below, the Half Cab’s standard vulc midsole is replaced with a lugged, boot-like WaffleCup iteration. Custom graffiti-tagged boxes complete the offering.
