Charles Jeffrey’s gender-fluid creations often walk on the binary line, submerging his practice in 1970 punk and Scottish influences. His designs usually pay tribute to London’s queer culture, presenting garments that dictate the queer experience through transformative silhouettes splattered with vibrant hues and patterns. His eponymous label Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY presented its Spring/Summer 2023 collection earlier this year, embracing the beauty of queer life through a fashion film dubbed PHWOARRR.

Following the previous, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY unites with British footwear craftsmen George Cox for a two-part collaboration. Identifiable GC silhouettes are given a LOVERBOY makeover, honoring British punks throughout. First, the D-ring Creeper loafer sees a black leather construction, featuring Jeffrey’s tartan pattern on the mudguards surrounding contrasting woven toe boxes. Next, fringed buckles hit the midpoints, rounding out the design with platformed bottoms for a boost.

Finally, Creeper boots don similar decor and an all-around smooth leather build. Textured toe boxes are set atop chunky sole units, while the high-top boot dons gilded ring eyelets above a throat strap enhanced with silver sun and moon charms.

The Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY x George Cox footwear collaboration is available now via Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY’s website for £475 and £537 GBP (approximately $530 and $600 USD).
