Ciele Athletics and norda Reunite For 001 "Gravel" Collaboration
A rugged, high-tech sneaker inspired by the gravel roads that distance runners traverse.
Montreal brethren Ciele Athletics and norda are out for a rip once again, joining forces for a new “Gravel” take on the 001 sneaker. Following up 2021’s Cooper’s Hawk-inspired colorway that the two created, the “Gravel” looks to the earth instead of the skies for inspiration — namely the gravel paths that distance-focused trail runners often traverse.
The majority of the “Gravel” adheres closely to its moniker, with a mixture of grey and soft tan tones. However, the look is given a bright pop of flair with a healthy dose of hi-vis orange accents as well. There are also a duo of specially-branded hits: the inner half of the heel tabs feature a Ciele Athletics wordmark while the medial midfoot opts for a low-key dual oval logo.

norda’s technical innovations are quickly becoming the stuff of legend, and they’re all present and accounted for here, from the woven Dyneema fiber on the upper to the Vibram Litebase midsole and Megagrip outsole that work together to provide exemplary cushion and traction. The partners have also come together to create a custom-printed take on Ciele Atheletics’ signature GOCap running hat that follows the same color scheme as the shoes.
