During Sony‘s CES 2022 press conference, Tom Holland appeared alongside film-studio chair Tom Rothman to unveil an exclusive preview for Uncharted. The visual, titled “Plane Flight,” sees Holland, who stars as video game adventurer Nathan Drake in the movie, fighting off enemies while hanging onto a flying plane.

“We created a film that has a lot of heart, that pays respect to the games, but also gives fans and people that love the games something new and something refreshing,” said Holland at the conference. “It’s interesting in these big action movies, I often find that the heart and soul of the movie can be lost in the action. But what’s so nice about our movie is you have this very tangible relationship between Nate and [his mentor] Sully [Mark Wahlberg], which is really the heart of the movie. … It’s about a young orphan looking for his family and in turn finding a family in the most sort of unorthodox way.”

The film follows Holland’s Drake and Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) as they traverse the globe in pursuit of the “greatest treasure never found.” Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and written by Rafe Judkins, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Uncharted also stars Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali (The Wilds) and Tati Gabrielle (The 100).

Fleischer said that he “made the movie for both hardcore fans of the game and those who are not yet familiar with the franchise and believe that both will be equally entertained by this incredibly fun and action-packed film,” according to a PlayStation blog post.

Uncharted will hit theaters on February 18, 2022. Watch the exclusive scene above.

Elsewhere, a petition to continue Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop live-action series hits almost 100,000 signatures.
