Netflix is creating a new tennis docuseries, following professional players as they compete for major titles, Bloomberg reported.

For the series, Netflix secured deals with the two governing bodies of professional tennis, the Association of Tennis Players and the Women’s Tennis Association. The streamer also inked a deal with the organizers of the four Grand Slam tournaments. Filming began at the first of those tournaments, the Australian Open, which will officially commence on Monday. The French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open will follow.

The series will feature equal time for men and women, according to Bloomberg.

The show may cover the current controversy surrounding the world’s top men’s player Djokovic Novak.

Novak, who is unvaccinated against COVID-19, had his visa revoked by Australian officials, barring him from traveling to the Australian Open.

Bloomberg credited Netflix’s popular racing show Formula 1: Drive to Survive with inspiring more sports content. The streamer is additionally working on a series about the 2022 PGA Tour and the men’s major golf championships.

In other entertainment news, a single page of a Spider-Man comic fetched $3.36 million USD at auction.
