Netflix to Air Docu-Series Uncovering the Dangers of Formula 1
Called ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive.’
With so many movies and TV shows coming to and leaving Netflix, it might be hard to pick what’s next to watch.
Netflix helps racing fans narrow their decision with the release of Formula 1: Drive to Survive, an all-new 10-part docu-series set to air on March 8. The series is a behind-the-scenes style take on the lifestyle of Formula 1 teams as they prepare to start the season in Melbourne, Australi, giving an emphasis on the dangers and risks of being an F1 driver. The all-telling Netflix series will be directed by Academy Award-winning producer James Gay Rees, Paul Martin, and Sophie Todd. Netflix confirms that they will have, “unprecedented access to the top drivers, principals, and owners.” Paul Martin also released a statement as follows:
Netflix was the perfect platform on which to tell the inside story of this incredible sport… F1 has long been a world of colorful characters and super-sized egos, thrills and drama, victory and tragedy, but until now that world has been largely hidden and secretive from fans.
Towards the end of the trailer, a voice can be heard saying, “I’ll do anything I can to get the best results possible, I’m not worried about dying…” Foreshadowing the intensity that’s to come with this upcoming Netflix docu-series.
In other news, the New York Times released a mini documentary investigating LA’s Chicano influence in Japan.
