The 'Spirited Away' x LOEWE Collection Is Being Resold on eBay for Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars
The fashion house’s second Studio Ghibli collab has officially hit the resale market.
Just last week, LOEWE launched its Spirited Away collection, the label’s second Studio Ghibli capsule.
The collection, which sees various iconic characters from the film including Chihiro, Haku and the faceless spirit Kaonashi is featured in a range of accessories and ready-to-wear apparel pieces. Promptly after its first debut week, the garments have already hit the resale market selling on eBay for eyebrow-raising price points. The Susuwatari-printed candle, which is considered the least expensive item in the collection, is currently valued at $451,049 USD. The original candle is priced at $220 USD, making the resale price over 2,000 times more.
There are more reasonable listings including a Susuwatari Puzzle purse, a Chihiro Amazona 28 bag and the Yubaba tote, all of which are priced above $6,000 USD. Items are also appearing on Grailed where a Boh sweatshirt is going for upwards od $2,600 USD.
While the collaboration has expected to reach great attraction from fans, those who were unable to purchase the collection from Loewe might just have to settle for the resale prices. It remains to be seen if LOEWE will be dropping a third collection soon.
