Not only will the winner of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este be the proud owner of a ‘Best in Show’ classic car, but now a unique A. Lange & Söhne chronograph as well.
The German manufacture has partnered with the Italian classic car show, to be held this year on the edge of Lake Como from October 1-3, since 2012.
Each year Lange CEO, Wilhelm Schmid, has presented the owner of the show’s most elegant car with a Lange 1 Time Zone “Como Edition”, made unique with a hand-engraved hinged cuvette caseback.
This year at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, Lange is changing the winner’s watch to another enviable piece from its collection, the 1815 Chronograph.
Again a unique piece, the watch features an 18k white gold case, a solid 18k pink gold dial and the hinged, hand-engraved cuvette with sapphire crystal caseback.
The choice of the 39.5mm column wheel flyback chronograph was thought to better represent the link between time measurement and motorsport.
