The Nike Dunk Low "NY vs NY" Receives a Release Date
Inspired by the city’s iconic streetball scene.
Nike has scheduled the release of a pair of summer dunks paying homage to the New York streetball scene. The “NY vs NY” Nike Dunk Lows are named after the annual Nike blacktop tournament bringing together the most exciting high school talent in the city.
The Big Apple is often referred to as the mecca of streetball and the ultimate proving grounds, birthing legends with the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Chris Mullin and Stephon Marbury. The NY vs. NY tournament features games on courts across the city such as Dyckman Park, West 4th, Watson, Lincoln Park, Tristate, and Gersh Park. The goal is to unite New York City basketball at a grassroots level and uplift communities through a shared passion for competition and hoops.
The celebratory shoes are dressed in smooth military green uppers with white pebbled leather overlays on the mudguards, eyestays, heels, and heel tab. Bright orange is found on the gradient Swoosh, tongue tags, “NY vs NY” embroidery, and heel tab branding. Below, a white midsole and a translucent blue outsole with the names of each participating park in the NYC summer league complete the look.
The Nike Dunk Low “NY vs NY” is expected to release on Nike’s website and select retailers on August 31 for $110 USD.
