ASICS' GEL-Kayano Trainer 21 Arrives in Two Monochromatic Makeups
“Carrier Grey/Habanero” and “Wood Crepe/Fresh Ice” feature monochromatic color schemes accented by colorful GEL cushioning.
ASICS‘ GEL-Kayano Trainer 21 is a hybrid running/training/lifestyle sneaker that combines the GEL-cushioned midsole of the GEL-Kayano line with the reinforced midfoot cage of the GEL-DS Trainer. Though it draws its inspiration from three different types of footwear, its latest duo of colorways use single-tone schemes to lock in its lifestyle function, bringing luxury and sport together in one compelling package.
“Carrier Grey/Habanero” and “Wood Crepe/Fresh Ice” are the official names for the two pairs pictured above. The first of these styles is a smoky gray tone with steel gray shades on its overlays and bold orange GEL cushioning visible at the heel and the forefoot. The second is a much more airy makeup, one that combines a soft tan base tone with matte tan accents and uses cool ocean blue GEL cushioning. Both are united in material, with an upper constructed fully of suede, and bolstered with TPU Tiger Stripe midfoot cages. Each is completed by a pop of color on its tongue tag that matches the midsole’s GEL cushioning.
The ASICS GEL-Kayano Trainer 21 “Carrier Grey/Habanero” and “Wood Crepe/Fresh Ice” are both available at Japanese retailers like mita now. Each is priced at ¥18,700 JPY (approximately $170 USD), inclusive of tax.
