Tyler, the Creator Hints at New Music With "SIDE STREET" Teaser
Revealing an upcoming project, titled “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST.”
Tyler, the Creator has officially hinted at new music in a teaser video posted to YouTube, titled “SIDE STREET.”
In the visual, Tyler makes out with a woman against the hood of a bright pink car while holding a dog on a leash, before eventually hopping in the statement-making whip and driving away. At that point, Odd Future mainstay Taco Bennett appears to meet up with the same girl with a confused expression on his face and asks, “Who the f*** is that?” After she shrugs off the uncomfortable encounter with a simple remark, the words “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST” command the screen in the video’s closing sequence.
Last week, fans in Los Angeles spotted a billboard on Sunset Boulevard with the same “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST” lettering and a phone number (1-855-444-8888) alongside the Columbia Records logo, where Tyler is signed. Upon dialing, the automated phone call plays a recorded message that many presume to be a conversation between Tyler and his mother underscored with music from the new album.
Since dropping his Grammy-winning album Igor in 2019, Tyler has released singles including “Group B” and “Best Interest,” as well as “Tell Me How” for a Coca-Cola commercial. Though Tyler has not yet confirmed his next album, many have pointed out that his full-length projects typically takes about two years to produce and release.
As he continues to tease his next musical installment, Tyler is also set to headline Chiacgo’s Lollapalooza festival this summer. Take a look at the full lineup.
