Yoon Ahn’s latest motorsport-inspired take on a Swoosh classic.
AMBUSH founder Yoon Ahn recently teased her Nike Dunk High collaboration in “Deep Royal Blue,” and after Ahn’s teaser we now have a detailed look at the high-cut design. Offering up a sporty, no-frills mixture of royal blue, white and black plus extended Swooshes inspired by motorcycle tailpipes, Ahn’s latest Dunk collaboration serves as an apt follow-up to her AMBUSH x Nike Dunk High “Cosmic Fucsia” from January.
High-cut uppers combine white leather toeboxes, quarter panels and collars with eponymous “Deep Royal Blue” mudguards, eyestays, heels and collar trim. An interesting assemblage is provided on the rear, as the top of the collar and heel’s bottom half extend further than the white leather middle piece.
The shoe’s key detail, however, is supplied by its above-mentioned Swoosh, which besides extending beyond the heel is rubberized and done up in black. More black appears on the waxed laces and collar trim. The white tongue features exposed foam construction, and boasts blue Swoosh branding on its badge. Down below, blue heel clips are stamped with embossed AMBUSH text hits. Sail midsoles and blue outsoles round off the look.
At the time of writing, an official release date for the AMBUSH x Nike Dunk High “Deep Royal Blue” has yet to be announced. However, it’ll likely release this summer and retail for $180 USD.
