'Fortnite' Teases Skins for Soccer Superstar Neymar Jr.
The Brazilian player will be fully released into the game starting April 27.
Epic Games has finally added soccer superstar Neymar Jr. to Fortnite, the first soccer player to receive his own skin in the battle royale game.
The video game developer said that Neymar Jr. is a key part of the Battle Pass for Season 6. The Brazilian player will be fully released into the game starting April 27.
“By completing Neymar Jr. Quests and Epic-rarity Quests, unlock and unleash his primal forms,” the Fortnite team said in a press release on Sunday.
Players can also visit Creative mode for a player-made Welcome Hub and island inspired by Neymar Jr.’s arrival. There will also be a Neymar Jr. Cup, where players can compete for a chance to win a custom soccer boot from Neymar Jr.’s team at PUMA.
Epic Games first announced its partnership with 23 global clubs to bring soccer to Fortnite in January — a part of a larger strategy for integrating sports into its metaverse. Fortnite will also continue to partner with the NFL through 2021.
Last week, Epic Games and Warner Bros. released the first installment of a six-issue series of crossover comics aimed at uniting the Dark Knight other DC Super Heroes with the gaming franchise.
