More than a century has passed since the RMS Titanic cruise ship sank in the North Atlantic. More than a century after the incident, LEGO has created its largest official set to date, honoring the largest ship to roam the seas in the early 1900s.
The 9090-piece set is an accurate 1:200 scale model of the original cruise ship, measuring 54 inches (135 cm) long. The ship’s entire construction including the bridge, promenade deck and swimming deck are all faithfully recreated.
The enormous model is pieced together in three sections with three separate instruction booklets. When detached, the interiors, including the ship’s grand staircase, boiler room, smoking lounge and more, can be observed. Moving parts include the anchor which can be raised and lowered, propellers that activate the engine’s pistons and an adjustable tension line between masts. Display stands and a nameplate cap off the ultimate display piece.
The LEGO Titanic is slated to release on November 1 on LEGO’s website for $630 USD.
