Following a joint COMME des GARÇONS Fragrance titled “Mirror,” KAWS partners with bags and accessories specialist PORTER to celebrate the Tanker Iron Blue Pop-Up Tour at Isetan Shinjuku.

The collaborative installment puts a unique spin on the “Tanker” bag series which was established in 1983 inspired by fabrics used on the original US Air Force “MA-1” flight jackets. Bags consist of a soft and lightweight three-layer fabric, containing polyester-cotton sandwiched between nylon twill on the front and nylon taffeta on the back.

Featured silhouettes in the KAWS capsule include a large rucksack, a two-way helmet bag, and a waist bag that doubles as a shoulder bag. The defining “Iron Blue” hue is used on the exterior, and a vivid rescue orange adorns the interior. KAWS’ COMPANION figure is embroidered throughout the bags in a formation of square bricks based on the artist’s URGE painting series, and additional “XX” motifs are found on the tags and buckles.

The upcoming KAWS x PORTER collaboration will be priced at ¥108,350 JPY for the Backpack, ¥66,000 JPY for the 2-Way Helmet bag, and ¥63,800 JPY for the Waist Bag. The items will be released via lottery at ISETAN THE SPACE with an over-the-counter launch date set for October 19. Head over to the Mistore website for in-depth drop information.
