Big Sean has officially left Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D Music after 14 years of working with the label. The rapper confirmed his departure on Twitter after the release of What You Expect, his collaborative EP with Hit-Boy, which debuted on Friday.

“By the way this the first project where I’m on my own label as well,” he wrote. “No more lil dawg shit!!!! I bossed up! #DONLIFE.”

In response to a fan inquiring about his exit from the label, where he first signed in 2007, Sean confirmed that he still maintains a “brotherhood” with G.O.O.D Music, but from a business standpoint, it made sense for him to depart from the label.

“That’s a forever brotherhood, but business wise, I had to start getting a bigger cut! I worked my way out that deal,” he wrote.

What You Expect was put out under FF, which is the initials of Big Sean’s Finally Famous, to Def Entertainment, which is released through Def Jam.

Sean released five solo albums through G.O.O.D Music, including Finally Famous, Hall of Fame, Dark Sky Paradise, I Decided and Detroit 2, along with TWENTY88 with Jhené Aiko and Double or Nothing with Metro Boomin. Additionally, the rapper released mixtapes Finally Famous Vol. 3: BIG and Detroit through the imprint.

In case you missed it, Megan Thee Stallion released an archival mixtape, dubbed Something for Thee Hotties.
