Telfar and UGG Tease Rhinestones and Plenty of Fluff In Upcoming Collaboration
All captured in an “at home with” video featuring Telfar Clemens.
Telfar and UGG have announced that they will be coming together for a collaboration releasing in 2021. The collaboration is part of UGG’s ongoing “FEEL YOU” initiative, which has enlisted over 30 artists, creatives, and activists to help them, and UGG, celebrate individuality through partnerships.
The announcement takes form in a short “at home” styled video with Telfar Clemens, the fashion designer and founder of his eponymous label Telfar. In the “day of a life” of Clemens, the film captures the designer in various environments ranging from cozy to personal, fun to expressive, all while littering products throughout.
While Clemens wears a pair of UGG’s Classic Mini Boot, products such as a rhinestoned Telfar x UGG logo T-shirt and a pair of shorts with a branded waistband are briefly shown. Clemens is also shown to be drawing his interpretation of the iconic UGG silhouette, while a suede product featuring a fluffy Telfar logo — potentially a take on the label’s sell-out bag — also appears.
Speaking on the collaboration, Telfar Clemens said in a statement, “I have made unofficial, unauthorized UGG boots in two shows already dating back to 2010. So I’ve always been obsessed with a certain kind of ubiquity and when something really unique ends up on everybody… What I want to do is get down to the DNA of UGG and see what genes we have in common. To get down to the core of that feeling.”
