The Official Trailer for the 'Shaman King' Anime Remake Has Arrived
Yoh Asakura returns.
The official trailer for creator Hiroyuki Takei’s Shaman King 2020 anime remake has finally arrived, confirming the show’s new arrivals and returning cast members. According to Kodansha USA Publishing and Comixology Originals, the series is described as follows:
In the world of Shaman King, shamans possess mysterious powers that allow them to commune with gods, spirits, and even the dead…and Manta Oyamada’s about to learn all about them, because his class just welcomed a new transfer student: Yoh Asakura, a boy from way off in Izumo…and a shaman in training!
Earlier this summer it was officially announced a new animation of Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine manga would be coming and that it would be based on the classic plot of the series. Yōko Hikasa will take on the role of protagonist Yoh Asakura in the new adaptation. Katsuyuki Konishi, Megumi Hayashibara, and Minami Takayama will all reprise their respective roles from the original anime as Amidamaru, Anna Kyōyama, and Hao Asakur, respectively.
Takei’s Shaman King was serialized in 1998 and produced a total of 32 single-volume books that were adapted into an anime 2001.
The new anime remake of Shaman King will air on TV Tokyo in April 2021.
In other entertainment news, a 4K Akira Blu-Ray is coming this holiday season.
