Israelian designer Roee Ben Yehuda has just given his clean take on the home coffee machine. Designed to keep the “steampunk” essence of traditional Italian espresso machines while maintaining a clean, cute appearance, the MOON Coffee Maker is a modern take on a century-old invention.
The white and beige egg-shaped machine sees two large gauges at the front with a transparent coffee bean hopper to the left and a water reservoir on the right. The machine sits on stubby cone legs. The work shown is still a quick model test from polyurethane foam, but perhaps we may see the real thing in kitchens sometime in the future.
In other design news, Will Smith opens up the The Fresh Prince Airbnb at $30 USD a night.

Moon Is a concept for a coffee machine that’s trying to keep the “steampunk” look of the traditional espresso makers while maintaining a clean shape and cute character. Coffee machines nowadays are a common household appliance, and with that their design had changed and reduced from those industrial espresso makers we now see only in restaurants. I’ve always been fascinated with those big chrome machines that almost looked like a small lab, it made me think about how we perceive coffee now when the whole ritual is being reduced to a capsule and a press of a button. When sitting down to settle on my concept I thought how can I incorporate this love for mechanical and tactile looking objects, with an updated clean look? Can I make a coffee machine that looks scientific but also has a cute character? #coffeemaker #espressomachine #lemanoosh #renderweekly #coffeemachine #studentdesign #designburger #プロダクトデザイン #コーヒーメーカー #productdesign #productdaily
