Concepts and Vault by Vans have joined forces for a punk-inspired “Kings Road” collection. Made up of a Sk8-Hi and a Slip-On with wild prints and fuzzy textures that draw from Vivienne Westwood‘s legendary mohair sweaters — and a name inspired by the road Westwood and her long-time partner, Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McClaren’s boutique resided on — the shoes are a colorful homage to London’s irreverent fashion and music scenes.
Shaggy mohair covers the entirety of each upper, but is applied in divergent fashion. The Sk8-Hi uses pink, purple and red for a colorful look, while the Slip-On is swathed in punk-approved black and white stripes. Each features special branded tags, and the Sk8-Hi is finalized by simple white midsoles and Jazz Stripes. Meanwhile, the Slip-On goes for high-gloss black midsoles and special striped detailing that matches the upper under its translucent outsole. Both shoes are accompanied by special apparel, namely an “Up Yours” tee and a crewneck sweatshirt.
The Concepts x Vault by Vans “Kings Road” collection is to release on the Concepts webstore September 24. Retail prices have yet to be announced.
