Brooklyn-based artist Michael Murphy is known for his mind-bending sculptures, three-dimensional installations and suspended works of art using a wide range of multidimensional techniques. The artist is responsible for creating the first portrait of then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2007 and continues to work with the Jordan brand and Nike to develop centerpiece works of art for their retail shops. Murphy’s anamorphic pieces look completely different when viewed in various angles.

Murphy recently announced a new edition featuring the Jumpman logo appearing to transform into the Air Jordan 1 silhouette. The hand-painted and resin cast sculpture stands 10 inches tall and will release in an edition of 50 pieces. Each edition comes with its own bespoke sneaeker box, a kickstand and a certificate of authenticity verifying its edition number. The sculpture marks the first one in an ongoing Jordan series.

The artist will release the edition on August 7 at noon ET with a pre-sale on August 6 at noon ET on his Perceptual Art store website. Get a closer look at the AJ1 edition below.
