Gucci Puts a New Twist on Loafer Silhouette With Collapsible Heel
Subverting the traditional loafer shape.

Whether it’s a backpack pillow holder or a series of extravagant vases, Gucci has proven that it’s willing to mix things up. This time, the luxury brand has released a hybrid loafer shoe with airy cut-out details reminiscent of sandals.
A new take on the classic leather loafer, the shoe is designed to be worn with the heel folded down or up. This foldable option allows the shoe to be worn in a casual slip-on style. In addition to the foldable heel, the loafers are crafted from cuir leather and accented with a delicate enameled version of the Interlocking G Horsebit inspired by a rare archival detail. The special cut-out detailing in the front subverts the loafer’s traditional refined shape, while the updated heel gives the shoe contemporary appeal and a summer-ready twist.
Take a closer look at the new men’s loafers in the slideshow above. They can be purchased now on Gucci’s website for $950 USD.
In other news, John Elliott and Suicoke have linked up for a sandal collaboration comprised of the ZIP Sandal and TONO Thong.
