Carving its route in the pressing conversation about racism in America, New York-based collective Ghetto Gastro has put together its Food Is a Weapon T-Shirt to support meaningful organization in America.

According to the Ghetto Gastro, the important release highlights the “farming practices and the culinary innovations of enslaved Africans and Indigenous Americans are the foundation of ‘American’ cuisine. Ensuring that the nation does not forget the agricultural power tied to the labor of colored people throughout history.

Additionally, the T-shirt also marks how food is and has been a race issue in the United States, as Ghetto Gastro says, “underserved areas historically exist as areas of food apartheid.” All profits from the sale of the Food Is a Weapon T-Shirt will be donated to Color Of Change, Rethink and Summaeverythang Community Center.

Priced at $77 USD, the Food Is a Weapon T-Shirt is available now exclusively on Ghetto Gastro’s website.

In case you missed it, the Bank of America recently announced a $1 billion USD contribution to help address racial inequality.
