Damon Albarn Performs New Music for 'Boiler Room: Streaming From Isolation'
The live debut of his newest project, ‘The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows.’
Damon Albarn appeared in the newest installment of Boiler Room‘s Streaming From Isolation livestream series, performing music from his newest project, The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows.
The Gorillaz and Blur frontman were virtually joined by 13 other musicians on string, percussion and horn instruments as he played piano and guitar in his home studio The Barn, while stunning visual landscapes of Iceland weaved in and out the 20-minute performance.
The livestream is his first-ever performance for the new album and arrives on the day he was meant to embark on a sold-out, 15-date European tour with 14 musicians and four singers. The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Follows takes inspiration from the nature and landscapes of Iceland — a country Albarn has been a frequent visitor for almost 30 years.
