Brooklyn-based photography outfits BKC and Seeing Collective have teamed up for an #ArtistRelief2020 print sale. With over 6.6 million people in the US filing for unemployment last week, the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus have been felt by nearly every profession — and artists are no different, so 100% of the net proceeds from the sale will go directly to the 60+ participating photographers or a charity of their choice.

Featuring a wide variety of photographs from gorgeous landscape shots to intimate portraits and in-the-moment candids, the prints are also affordably priced, ranging from $25-$100 USD. Each print is responsibly handled and packaged as well: according to BKC’s website, all shots are printed on archival paper and “handled with care (and gloves).”

Although its physical location is currently closed, BKC’s Brooklyn photo school has remained active online through the course of the outbreak. The organization has hosted free online courses and presented bi-monthly series like “Photo Critiques” and “Photo Cafe,” talking to professional photographers in collaboration with Seeing Collective.

“Our focus at BKC has always been about how we can benefit our community of artists and creatives,” said BKC founder Justin Lin in a conversation with Hyperallergic. “It felt natural to build something that could help bring some much-needed income for those without work. More importantly, we want to demonstrate how supporting each other is essential to making it through this pandemic together.”

Head to BKC’s webstore to shop the collection now, and for more art news, check out Verdy‘s newest graphic character, introduced by way of an at-home coloring page release.
