Coming out of Seoul, South Korea’s emerging class of standout fashion sphere, SU GI is the latest fledgling label helping carve out the nation as a major player in contemporary fashion. SU GI recently unveiled its latest range through a lookbook that conveys the sassy wedding theme that inspired the design of the Fall/Winter 2020 collection. But all of the offerings cohesively fit under the concept of “Something Unbalanced Generates Ingenuity” and the three focal pillars of women, Asia and faith.
Led by a couple playing the special day in full nuptial garb, the lookbook expresses the looks inspired by aesthetic ideas of what “wedding guests” might wear to a wedding. Defined by a union of contemporary styling and traditional forms, the collection heavy features SU GI’s modern take on suiting marked by striking shoulder cuts, billowing forms, wide-set trousers and experimenting with tweed and iridescent textile constructions. Other notable elements include takes on the classic tuxedo shirt, a faux fur coat, oversized striped padded dress shirt, bleached design tops and unique dress shapes.
