Breitling has just announced the return of its Top Time Chronograph watch. Originally launched in the ’60s, the Top Time was a sports watch aimed at a more active audience with its bold lines and playful “Zorro” dial. This watch was also made famous when worn by Sean Connery in the James Bond film Thunderball – although this version does not come Geiger counter equipped.

Sitting at 41mm in size, the new Top Time houses Breitling’s COSC-certified Caliber 23 movement that has a 48 hours power reserve and beats at 28,800 vph. The watch is characterized by its two-toned dial which marks both the small second counter at the 9 o’clock and the 30-minute counter at the 3 o’clock position.

Breitling CEO Georges Kern comments: “Breitling aficionados have always loved the Top Time’s dial. When it was released more than 50 years ago, it was a watch that appealed to a younger audience committed to enjoying the freedom and the spirit of the 1960s, and, amazingly, after all this time, it continues to stand out. The Top Time is an important but often-overlooked part of our heritage, and we know it’s going to resonate with men and women who love this blend of history, design, and great performance.”

Limited to 2000 pieces, the Top Time will also come with a blockchain digital passport for authenticity. Developed alongside Arianee, the passport confirms ownership and authenticity of the watch if someday the owner should try and sell it, or buy one on the secondary market.

Those interested can expect the new Top Time to release in the coming days at Breitling’s online store. Stay tuned for pricing.
